Abstract
The tethered cord syndrome is a clinical entity manifested by progressive :motor, sensory charges incontinence and pain in the legs. The purpose of this study is to elucidate a progressive i neurological manifestation after tethering of the cord and to analyse the effect of untethering at various intervals in Kittens during ¢¥their growing. Studies in experimental models indicate the timing of untethering is the most important factor on the neurological improvement.
It is assumed that tethering of ¢¥filum ferminale in cats may lead to gradual structural damage on lumbosacral cord, so early untethering procedures may improve spinal cord blood flow and probably facilitate the restoration of neuronal dysfunction.
